In response to a DSE query dated August 02, 2026 regarding news published in the online newspaper titled "All S. Alam factories in Chattogram shut down; workers laid off" (translated from Bengali to English), the company vide its letter dated August 04, 2026 has informed DSE, among others, the following: "...we would like to intimate that due to unforeseen circumstances beyond control, we have been facing significant challenges that have been created trouble us to continue regular production. (cont.1) Immediately after August 5, 2024 the company's bank accounts were frozen without giving any notice and restriction were imposed in opening of Letter of credit(s) by the bank(s) and most of our skilled workers gradually left their jobs that's why we are heavily facing shortage of chemicals, raw materials, skill workers and have no option, but to stop production as well as trying to resolve the matter. (cont.2) Upon resolving the issues and getting opportunity for regular operation of the same, we are hopeful we can start production immediately and will intimate you accordingly for your kind information. However, failure to resume production within a short time could have a significant financial impact on the company..."

The Company has been placed in 'Z' category from existing 'B' category with effect from today i.e., January 04, 2026 according to provision 1(b) of BSEC Directive No. BSEC/CMRRCD/2009-193/77 dated May 20, 2024 regarding non holding of Annual General Meeting (AGM) within the stipulated time frame.

The Stock Brokers and Merchant Bankers are requested to abstain from providing loan facilities to purchase securities of S. Alam Cold Rolled Steels Ltd. with effect from today i.e., January 04, 2026 as per BSEC Directive No. BSEC/CMRRCD/2009-193/32 dated December 26, 2021.
